Free Up Stiff Joints: Gentle Mobilisation for Smoother, Easier Movement

Joint mobilisation is a gentle, hands-on technique where your therapist applies small, graded movements to a stiff or painful joint to improve how it moves and feels.

Research in people with neck and back pain shows joint and spinal mobilisation can lead to clinically meaningful pain reductions, often in the range of 30–40% over a short treatment block, especially when combined with exercise.

Other studies report measurable improvements in joint range of motion and function, with many patients moving from “moderate” disability scores to “minimal” disability after several weeks of treatment.

Clinically, joint mobilisation is widely used for problems like neck stiffness, shoulder impingement, ankle sprains and arthritis‑related tightness, helping people return more comfortably to daily tasks such as driving, computer work and walking.
